Data spirits are fairly simple, semi-autonomous machine spirits designed to accomplish specific goals. After completing their assigned task, data spirits self-terminate - both as a consequence of their design and as a means of ensuring that they are not put to use beyond their intended purpose. Data spirits are typically stored on disposable interface-keys about the size of a thumbnail, though tech-priests and others with the appropriate cybernetics often choose to carry them internally.
